GO FOODISM! Al fresco dinner series continues with Chef Jeff Kreklau
Lake Country’s Gatzke Orchard presents SOUTHWEST BLUES! June 29th

Oyama, British Columbia – June2/2014 – Gatzke Orchard presents GO FOODISM! Join award winning Chef Jeff Kreklau, Proprietor of Routes Grill for SOUTHWEST BLUES! Featuring smoky southern flavours spiced up with local farm ingredients with wine tastings by Intrigue Wines.

“We’re very happy to have Jeff Kreklau at Gatzke’s,” says Joseph Pinheiro, Event Manager, Gatzke Orchard. “When I moved to Lake Country a year ago I had my first dinner at Route’s Grill. Jeff and his family share the same passion for tourism in Lake Country and promoting our great farmers and producers. I’m very curious to see what sweet and spicy surprises he’ll cook up for SOUTHWEST BLUES!

A total of six orchard dinners featuring a diverse group of BC’s finest chefs will take over the orchard this summer. Jeff Kreklau is the second chef featured in the Gatzke Orchard outdoor, roaming dinner series, taking place on the last Sunday from May through to September.

“I am very excited to be working with Al Gatzke & Joe at Gatzke Orchard for the GO FOODISM! dinner series,” says Jeff Kreklau. “Supporting Okanagan valley tourism was one of our main goals when we opened up Routes Grill in Lake Country with Chef/Partner Michael Coates and my wife Cody.”

Guests continue to rave about the educational and interactive style to the dinner series. Sipping on great Lake Country wines, discussing local produce with the farmer and then being able to ask questions to the chef has made for a unique Okanagan dining experience.

“Moving our family to the Okanagan, has been an amazing experience,” says Kreklau. Discovering fresh locally sourced ingredients, cooking with them every day, and working with the people who dedicate their time to growing the best product they can has been wonderful.”

Before dinner, guests will explore the property alongside those who raised their dinner and harvest some of the bounty nurtured according to the FLOS mentality. The Fresh Local Organic Seasonal mentality is prioritized in that order and uses local farms to help grow community. Gatzke’s creates a food and beverage service that educates people about the connection between food, nature and agriculture.
